Lauretta Hill is the First Lady of Crusaders for Christ Evangelistic Church, Inc. She is the wife of Bishop David S. Hill, proud mother of two sons, one daughter, one granddaughter, one miracle grandson, two daughters-in-law and one son-in-law.
In 1980 she had to yield to the Holy Spirit and surrender her life to Christ. She has never had a desire to turn back to her former lifestyle and is forever thankful to Jesus for giving her eternal life. Faithfully providing tireless support, prayer, and encouragement to her husband, the Pastor, she does not take this role lightly, and it is one that is very important to her and him.
As a servant of God, she is committed to her church and church family. She serves on the Executive Board, Greeter Ministry, Print Ministry, Intercessory Prayer Ministry, and Women of CFC.
For several years she taught the kindergarten Sunday School class. The Lord has blessed her with administrative abilities which she really enjoys using.
Some have described her personality in this way: she is kind hearted, a great role model, a motivator, and encourager. First Lady Hill is grateful that she can be herself and allow God to guide her into who He wants her to be. One of her favorite Scriptures is - Psalm 27:5 For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion, in the secret of His tabernacle shall He hide me, He shall set me up upon a rock.
Elder Martin C, Johnson, Assistant Pastor
Pastor Chris, as he is known, was born and raised in the West Philadelphia section of the city.
Even though he grew up in a Christian home with family that loved and served the Lord, he did not make a commitment to accept Jesus right away.
In 1979, someone witnessed to Pastor Chris, and that same day, he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Since that time, Pastor Chris has been serving the Lord faithfully at Crusaders for Christ Evangelistic Church, first under the pastorate of the Late Apostle Thelma Malone and now under Bishop David S. Hill.
Early in his saved life, Pastor Chris took the Beginners Bible Class, sang on the choir, played the drums, and sang with a group known as the Chosen Generation He was ordained as a deacon in 1988, as a minister in 2000, as an elder in 2008, and set aside as Assistant Pastor to Apostle David S. Hill in 2009.
In addition to preaching the word of God, heading the Building and Maintenance Department, overseeing Friday night prayer, and teaching the teenage class in HYPE, Pastor Chris plays the organ.
Taught by the Lord himself, Pastor Chris plays for the Praise and Worship team, all of the choirs, and the soloists at Crusaders for Christ. He heads the music department with the same person who led him to the Lord, his wife, Evangelist Beth Johnson. They were married in 1982, and the Lord blessed them with three children: Tanya, Kristen, and Brittany. They also have five grandchildren: Jani, Omar, Nathan, McKenna, and Madison. Their children and their children’s families serve the Lord with their parents at Crusaders for Christ Evangelistic Church.
She is well known and adored for her card ministry and for the encouraging words she sends via email daily. She is dedicated to being about her Father’s business, winning souls for the Kingdom.
